"Selena Mars is a brilliant talent..." Darrien Michele Gipson, SAGindie National Director

"Selena has launched a promising career." Jack Smart, Backstage Magazine

Selena Mars is an award-winning artist who has been making a name for herself in the film industry for over a decade. Always a performer, she grew up doing classical ballet and singing competitions. She appeared in her first feature film at 12 years old and performed at the White House at age 13. The evolution into film and TV work were a natural progression for her. In addition to being a SAG-Aftra actor, she also has credits as a producer, director, writer and composer.

Selena recently created and curated the film program UGASIRI (Resilience). The festival featured work by filmmakers of color exclusively and focused on themes of social justice and cultural identity. The films were shown at the Helen Day Arts Center, (now called The Current) in Stowe, Vermont. She has been recognized with grants and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, The Rhode Island State Council for the Arts and WeWork. She is a SAGindie and Stowe Story Labs Fellow. Selena is dedicated to giving back and is involved in several charitable organizations including Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
